mama le’s salad dressing

this is my mom.

mama le

these are a few things she cooks and bakes. (some photos by my brother vinh.)

les escargots!

pain au chocolat

prime rib

raspberry cake with strawberries

this is how i feel about her.

a lot of the recipes and things you’ll see on here are either from her or heavily influenced by her, the true chef.

so! here’s her salad dressing. i love it – and you can take the basics and make any type of vinaigrette with it, really. this one’s a bit tart with the hot mustard (we use french mustard).

oh, and i really just wing it and keep adding stuff until it tastes right…so…don’t mind the lack of measurements. i do that :/ (i will work on it for you!)

mama le’s salad dressing

prep time: 2 minutes.

all the things

what you need:

  • dijon mustard
  • salt
  • pepper
  • olive oil
  • soy sauce
  • sugar
  • vinegar

get it done:

  • grab a spoonful of mustard and put it in a small bowl
  • add a good amount of salt and pepper and a spoonful of sugar

  • pour in enough soy sauce to cover it and add a splash of vinegar
  • slowly pour in enough olive oil while whisking with your fork until it’s a smooth consistency

  • continue to either add mustard/soy/sugar to your liking depending on your tastebuds
  • now you have a vinaigrette for your mixed greens!
