Sable Kitchen & Bar

so i got a fun little email earlier this week!!

it was from julie of groupon PR and invited me to a happy hour with a few other bloggers (Feats of Eats & Upbeat Eats to name a few).

i learned a lot and gained some valuable advice, drank some amazing cocktails, munched on some delicious apps, and shmoozed a bit. all thanks to James (NY Barfly) and zagat! check out their 30 under 30 here in chicago.

the jack rose (apple brandy, house made grenadine, fresh lemon)

anyways, we went to sable, where top chef texas heather contestent reigns.

the lowdown:

    • ★★★★ can’t wait to come back and try more things
    • $$ (~$15-20 a drink or dish)
    • casual, trendy
    • good for groups in the bar
    • amazing cocktail list/book
    • neighborhood: river north
    • red line – grand

i think this is a good spot for grabbing drinks and a few plates to share.

settle down for a happy hour and grab a fancy cocktail or three, share a flatbread (duck confit!) and some sliders (short rib!). the menu is exciting and fun, so it makes me want to come back to continue trying and bringing more people.

not sure if i’d sit down and eat here, but would love to munch and drink again! it’s refreshing to have a restaurant with GOOD eats and drinks in this area for the price around here.

  1. Very cool!! I think I submitted my info a day too late. I hope there are more opportunities like this in the future 🙂 – Steph @ Upbeat Eats
