fish tacos

so i’m making enchiladas tonight, and there’s many a tortilla in the house. fish tacos it is!

tilapia fish tacos

adapted from eclectic recipes.

prep time: 10 min | total time: 20 min | serves: 3-4

what you need:

salsa/toppings:

    • 1/2 small red or green cabbage, shredded
    • 1 tomato, diced
    • 1/2 onion, diced
    • 1 tablespoon sour cream
    • 1 tablespoon1 greek yogurt (instead of mayo)
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • hot sauce
sauce:
    • 1 tablespoon sour cream
    • 1 tablespoon1 greek yogurt (instead of mayo)
    • hot sauce
fish:
    • 1 lb fish (tilapia is cheap and always on hand at my house), cubed
    • 3/4 cup flour
    • 3/4 cup beer
    • vegetable oil
  • small corn or flour tortillas
  • shredded cheese
  • salt, pepper, cilantro, lime
  • jalapeno, avocado optional
get it done:
  • for the toppings, add all the ingredients with the cabbage in a bowl, mix well and set aside
  • for the fish, preheat a skillet with oil over high heat
  • chop up the fish into chucks, or cook whole, however you prefer, and soak it in some beer in a large bowl
  • add flour and mix well, coating
  • brown each piece of fish over high heat
  • warm up the tortillas on medium heat in another pan
  • combine all the ingredients for deliciousness, tortilla, sauce, fish, cabbage mix. sprinkle some lime and any other toppings. bam!
